Back side of HDMI and network ready home theater receiver

Connecting a new Home Theater Receiver to your TV and components, like cable box, Blu-Ray etc has become much easier with the rise of the HDMI cables. HDMI cables provide Video and Audio through one cable, no more component cables or RCA analog cables that you had to connect 2-4 different cables to get video and audio to just one component. All new TVs and components now days have HDMI connections. So here is how to connect your TV and components to your home theater receiver.

Above is a partial back view of a new home theater receiver with 5 HDMI inputs to the right and 1 HDMI output to the left in white .

1. Connect 1 HDMI cable to HDMI OUT port, on the left of the above picture, to number one HDMI port of your TV.

2. Connect your other components (cable box, Blu-ray etc) to HDMI 1 through 5 ports, to the right of the above picture.

Once you have done that and have connected the speakers to the receiver, use the home theater receiver remote to change components. That’s it!!!
