So you are looking to build a home theater system but do not want to spend tons of cash, here is a solution.
First you have to decide on which TV to buy. An LCD 42 to 50 inch TV are reasonably priced and have very good picture. Try to stay away from the 3D TVs as they are expensive. Plasma TV are less expensive but they consume a lot of electricity. Make sure that the TV is 1080p and not a 1080i. Here are some good TV’s that are reasonably priced:

Second you will need a better sound. The speakers that are build in with the Flat Screen TV’s will not provide you with that stereo sound effect. So what you do is get yourself a sound Bar with a wireless sub woofer. A sound Bar with a wireless sub woofer will give you that theater sound effect without having that big effect on your wallet.
